BiographyH. S. VISHWANATH, populary known as HSV was born in Shivamogga, Karnataka, in 1956. He is a Bachelr in Business Management from Mysore University, coupled with CAIIB and post graduate diploma in Computer Applications. He has worked as a Senior Manager in Corporation Bank, for more than 37 years and has retired in January 2016.
As a cartoonist, his inspiration was legendary cartoonist Mr. R. K. LOKMAN. His firstcartoon was published in 1973 and thereafter his cartoons have appeared in almost all leading Kannada newspapers and periodicals such as Sudha, Taranga, Mayura, Tushara, Prajamatha and many more. His cartoon exhibitions have been held in Several places from 1977 onwards. When he was working in Mangalore, his pocket cartoons were published in two newspapers daily for three years.
For the last 20 years, he has been contributing cartoons on various issues concerning the banking industry and they are published in the last cover page of “officers’ Voice”, a house magazine of Corporation Bank Officers’ Organisation, widely read in the banking circle. His contributions have continued even felicitated by All India Bank Officers’ Federation in recognition of his contributions in the field of banking through his cartoons.
He has to his credit three collections of cartoons, two of them in English and one in Kannada. “BanKartoon” is a collection of cartoons exclusively on Banking published in 2017. The book has the distinction of being one of its Kind in the country for being an exclusive collection of banking related cartoons.
